Calming Box Feel Good-Lend a Hand to Someone Else

Would you like to feel good without buying something or pretending to be someone else?

You don’t have to go to the gym or use coping mechanisms.

Helping others promotes physiological changes in your brain linked with happiness.  Build your foundation of calm to be sustainable.This heightened sense of well-being might be the byproduct of being more physically active as a result of volunteering, or because it makes us more socially active.

Volunteering gives you new friends and connects you with our community as yourself. 

Face-to-face activities such as volunteering at a food bank can reduce your loneliness and isolation.We all have skills and attributes to bring into other people’s lives.

Studies show that volunteering enhances our overall sense of purpose and identity.  This is because helping others makes you feel rewarded, fulfilled and empowered.

Helping others, especially those who are less fortunate than yourself, can help put things into perspective and make you feel more positive about your own circumstances.

We do not know what obstacles others have in their lives. It can be invisible and they may need to feel like a part of life just like you.

One study found that people are more likely to perform feats of generosity after observing another do the same. This effect ripples throughout your community, inspiring dozens of individuals to make a difference.  You can set up your own group or do something on your own.

If you feel nervous about committing or being obligated to a schedule initially, then do your own thing. Pick up garbage or some activity that adds to your community. Practise letting others know that you are taking care of your local environment, then you can try engaging in a socially interactive situation as you build your confidence. 

Don’t feel despair if you remove graffiti or pick up garbage and the next day it is messy again. Studies show that the less garbage is thrown on the street the less people decide to throw it.. Especially if they see you picking it up. They can take their garbage home or to work.

This beauty has the effect of calm on everyone. It gives hope and respect to our home and neighbourhood. Pride is good for all our souls.Focus is satisfying and not in a harmful way. Do 5 minutes. Do 65 minutes. The excuse that you are busy is old. Make time. Do a little as opposed to doing nothing. Your priority is always supporting yourself and finding ways to easily do that as a normal activity.

Keep going. Invite others to join you or put your gloves on and headphones. Our planet does not need more garbage. Animals and humans do not need more garbage. Our brains do not need more garbage.Be confident that you are making a difference. Shifting for yourself, your health, your stress and community. This helps you build your sustainable calming box foundation.

Regular volunteering improves your ability to manage your stress and stave off disease as well as increasing your sense of life satisfaction. This is because volunteering alleviates loneliness and enhances your life.

Helping others teaches you to help yourself. If you’ve been through a tough experience or just have a case of the blues, the “activism cure” is a great way to get back to feeling like yourself.You are not helpless. Things are not hopeless. Keep searching and growing. Celebrate your wins. No matter how tiny.

People who volunteer have higher self-esteem and overall well being. The benefits of volunteering depend on your consistency. The more regularly you contribute, the more confidence you’ll gain.

When you help others, you give off positive vibes, which rub off on peers and improve your friendships.  Being a force for good in a friend’s life can help build a lasting bond.
